Control Line Updates

We can now confirm that the following arrangements have been negotiated and agreed between SAM35 and ModelAir on behalf of the F2B and Vintage aerobatic community  for the Mayfly events at Old Warden on 12th and 13th May:

One aerobatic circle to be marked out at Old Warden to take up to a maximum of 70’ lines. Marking to take place from 10.00 on Saturday morning of the Mayfly and to be jointly agreed by each circle CD. No centres or perimeters to be marked until agreed safe separation has been achieved between carrier, aerobatics, speed and sport circles. When marking complete Brian Lever to check safe separation distances before signing off each circle as safe to fly. All other rules can be found on the ModelAir website.

As previously posted Brian Lever  will run the following events at the Mayfly:

Phantom, Rascal, Trojan, BeeBug and Champ/ED Bee Testing. To help participants events will run on both Saturday and Sunday with certificates being sent by post. Please note only racing will be run with no speed element to any of the competitions. BeeBug will include nominated laps and aerobatics. Nipper speed will be transferred to SAM 35 meetings at Buckminster.

For all participants and models the following safety measures will apply:

  • Every race to be marshalled by CD and two time keepers.
  • Races will be only two up.
  • Models and modellers unable to satisfy all the above will be informed they are unable to fly.
